Welcome, competitors! This guide explains the official HLB Seasonal Ranking System covering point structure, format rotation, double-entry rules, leaderboard tracking, prize distribution, and fair play. Read carefully to stay informed and competitive.
Each season (4 months), players earn points by participating in HLB-ranked Sunday tournaments across four major formats:
3G Standard
3G Limited
4G 1-Ban Standard
4G 1-Ban Limited
Points from all formats are combined into a single seasonal leaderboard. At the end of the season:
Points reset to zero
Top 10 players receive rewards funded by:
10% from each tournament’s prize pool
Additional sponsorships or bonus contributions
At the end of each month, the format schedule for the next month’s Sundays will be posted in Rivals.
A roulette system determines the order of formats for Weeks 1–4.
If a month has five Sundays, only four are used for official ranked play. The extra Sunday is non-ranked and may host special or casual events.
Always check Rivals at month-end for the official schedule and plan your entries accordingly.
Points are awarded equally across all formats, and stack per event:
Participation (check-in or submission): +1 point
Advance to qualifiers (bracket): +1 point
3rd place finish: +1 point
2nd place finish: +2 points
Champion: +3 points
Example: If you participate, reach bracket, and win = 5 points total.
All points from ranked events are combined into one total. Only your declared deck (see below) counts for rankings. There are no format-specific prizes, but organizers may publish stats for insights.
If you register two decks for a tournament:
Both entries will be awarded 1 point each upon registration, for a total of 2 participation points.
For advancement and podium points, only one declared deck will be considered for ranked scoring.
If the non-declared deck advances or reaches podium, no additional points will be awarded beyond the 2 participation points.
If the wrong deck is declared and the other deck performs better, points will not transfer—only the declared deck counts for ranked purposes.
NO SHOW & SUBSTITUTION POLICY
If a player is called and does not show up within the allotted time:
The tournament will continue and the match will be queued for the final round of that phase.
If the player remains absent by the end of the round, the following will apply:
Scoring Rules for Absences:
Round 1: The present player is awarded a 4-0 win.
Round 2: The absent player is treated as a Bye, and the present player receives a 4-3 win.
Round 3 and onward: The present player will be awarded a 4-0 win.
If a player is unable to continue a ranked event and designates a substitute to compete using their deck — with prior approval from the organizer and judges — the tournament match will still proceed, but the original player will only receive 1 participation point, regardless of how far their deck advances or even if it wins the tournament.
Only 1 ranking point will be awarded to the substituted player for participation.
Any wins or placements achieved by the substitute will not contribute additional ranking points to the original player.
This policy applies whether the substitution occurs mid-match, mid-tournament, or after registration.
This ensures fairness and transparency across the seasonal rankings.
Each HLB-ranked Sunday event contributes 10% of its prize pool to the Seasonal Ranking Prize Pool.
This amount is logged and viewable with the leaderboard.
Organizers may add extra items, gear, or sponsorships.
At season end, this pool is divided among the Top 10 players(depending on total players), based on a preannounced breakdown.
Rewards may include:
Cash/digital prizes

Trophies/medals or perks
